Abstract

In this scientific publication, the author tried to rethink and generalize the creative heritage of famous foreign researchers. A deep cognitive interest in the rich historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of Central Asia, including the Kazakhs, among representatives of the foreign scientific community manifested itself after the conquest of the territory of the Turkestan region by the tsarist Russian Empire. It should be noted that under the dominance of the tsarist ideological system, when the growth of the national and spiritual self-consciousness of the Turkic peoples was artificially suppressed, the study of ethnic history, culture, features of the traditional way of life, mentality and psychological characteristics of the local peoples acquired a new shape, meaning and shade. Many prominent German researchers, who are on duty in the Turkestan region, covered the multifaceted aspects of the history and ethnography of the Kazakh people from an objective and truthful position. Despite the forceful pressure and pressure from the military and civilian officials of the tsarist border administration, an objective approach took up in the study of certain topical problems of the national history and ethnography of the Kazakh people. Well-known foreign researchers have repeatedly visited the Turkestan region, with great interest and attention studied the culture, life, specific features and color of the nomadic civilization, some elements of both the material and spiritual culture of the Kazakh people.
