In modern social sciences, the kun problem is recognized as a unique and cultural phenomenon of civilization and is the basis of historical legal forms. It should be noted that the customary legal system, as a form of law in the traditional nomadic Kazakh society, was used in public relations in international law.
The study of the question of kun assumes historical and cognitive significance. While studying the problem, different views were formed on the theoretical directions of customary law of traditional Kazakh society. During the writing of the article, the main directions of studying the kun of traditional legal institutions in society, which play a special role in the formation of Kazakh statehood, were analyzed.
