The paper examines the relationship between Kazakhstan and the United States in the context of Washington's extra-political strategy in Central Asia. The aims, objectives and methods of the US policy towards Kazakhstan are considered. The special role of the USA in the multi-vector policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is characterized and the main priorities of cooperation are determined. Particular attention is paid to the relationship between the two countries in ensuring regional and international security, countering terrorism and extremism.
The paper also shows the change in the attitude of the United States towards the region in general and Kazakhstan in particular. The key importance in this transformation is associated with the collision of Washington's interests with the interests of China and Russia. Consideration of all these aspects in the process of dynamics, evolution and transformation of Kazakh-American relations and identification of the true goals of US policy in the entire Central Asian region is actualized. An explanation is given for the fact that the United States regards Kazakhstan as a priority partner in Central Asia.
